DEVELOPING ENGLISH TEACHING SKILLS

This track is aimed at:

  • In-service primary or secondary school teachers of English.
  • In-service teachers of English at Official Schools of Languages and Polytechnics.
  • University degree holders with a good knowledge of English and an interest in language teaching.

All classes will be held at the Faculty of Philology (Caracciolos Building, Trinidad Street, 3, Alcalá de Henares): Mondays-Thursdays (Lecture room 6); Fridays (Lecture room 1)

4 cr Classroom Management and Motivation (Group 1: Primary)

Classroom Management and Motivation (Group 2: Secondary) 

4 cr Teaching and Learning in a Bilingual Classroom

4 cr The Place of Literature in the Teaching of English

4 cr Poetry in the English Classroom

4 cr Computer-assisted Instruction

4 cr Dealing with Grammar, Vocabulary and Pronunciation

4 cr Observation and Research in the Classroom

4 cr Writing Research Projects

2nd Term

4 cr Resources and Materials: Analysis, Production, Adaptation

4 cr Short Stories for Creative Language Teaching

4 cr English for the Classroom

4 cr Drama in Language Learning

4 cr Integrated Planning for Bilingual Education

4 cr Creative Writing

For the completion of the Master’s degree, students must write and defend orally their Master’s Dissertation (16 credits), which is offered in two modalities:
